Financial Toxicity Of Anticancer Therapies

Abstract

Innovations in therapeutic approach in cancer, especially the development of targeted and immunotherapies, have a remarkable potential for transforming disease course and treatment. Rising drug costs are facing the limited health care budgets and are putting significant pressure on health care costs, creating significant barriers to the availability of new therapies for patients in both developed and developing countries. Publicly funded health systems are particularly affected by that rising drug costs. In the last couple of years more attention is paid to the financial toxicity of anticancer drugs.
