RE-IRRADIATION WITH GAMMA KNIFE – CLINICAL CASES

Abstract

Gamma Knife is the first device specially created to perform stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), designed and developed in time exclusively for intracranial application and accepted as a "golden standard" for cranial radiosurgery. Nowadays Gamma Knife radiosurgery is being applied in a broad spectrum of cerebral diseases - malignant tumors, brain metastases from other primary tumors, benign tumors, vascular and functional disorders.
This article presents our clinical experience in performing re-irradiation with Gamma Knife radiosurgery in the Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery department of "Heart and Brain" Hospital, Pleven.
