REIRRADIATION WITH RADIOSURGERY FOR CERVICALCANCER RELAPSE – CLINICAL CASE
Keywords:
cervical carcinoma, reirradiation, radiosurgeryAbstract
Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers among women worldwide, especially in underdeveloped countries. One-third of them develop recurrence, most often 2-3 years after initial treatment. In the most cases, recurrences are inoperable. This is where radiosurgery (SBRT) comes in, in the successful treatment of these patients, even in the case of reirradiation, thanks to precise radiation delivery techniques and advanced technologies for imaging, targeting and control of radiation. A case of a recurrence of cervical cancer in the presacral region, successfully treated with radiosurgery is presented.
